Port Hardy to Victoria

It was 310 miles to Victoria so we got an early start. It was still cold and drizzly so we put on all our gear including baklavas. In one town there was a detour. We ended up in a residential area with no idea of how to get back to the highway.

I pulled over to ask a lady walking along the sidewalk for directions and she ran off screaming and clutching her purse. I asked Betty what the heck was wrong with her! She said, “Do you have any idea what we look like?” I had forgotten the baklavas. Good thing we didn’t go into a 7 Eleven to ask for directions.

We were cold and tired when we finally got to Victoria and we had to get up early to catch the Black Ball Ferry to Port Angeles. I guess that’s why we didn’t take any pictures that day.
