St John

The St John Port Authority shows that the Spirit will dock at "Pugsley A" which is right in what's called the "Uptown" area. We will be in the heart of the historical district with lots of pubs, restaurants and shopping well within walking distance. Paul, one of the locals posting on the Cruise Critic Board, says that "Saint John is the most Irish city in Canada." He also tells us that both O'Leary's Pub and the Saint John Ale House are great places to stop for a cold brew. Another place he says not to miss is Saint John City Market also easy to walk to. Kathy, Paul's DW, says that Billy's Seafood at the top of City Market serves a great lobster roll with salad or frys for $12.95. We will check that out for sure!

The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. The difference from high to low tide can be as much as 48 feet and it can change as much as 6 to 8 feet in one hour! The Falls Restaurant is a little less than 2 miles from the pier and is one of the best places to watch the tides change. We decided to do a two hour tour with Freedom Tours to get a feel for the area and then wander around on our own for awhile.
